People living in north east London are being invited to have their first Covid-19 jab at an NHS vaccination this Saturday 19th June. The event is being held from 10am to 8pm, here at the London Stadium and anyone eligible who wishes to attend will be required to pre-book their jab.
No walk-in vaccinations will be offered on the day.
Bookings are now open to anyone in eligible groups living in Barking and Dagenham, City of London, Hackney, Havering, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets or Waltham Forest who still require their first Covid-19 jab. To book an appointment, people need to register on Eventbrite here.
The NHS is currently offering vaccinations to those aged 21 and over, but jabs are expected to be available to 18- to 20-year-olds by this weekend. Full details of who can get the vaccine are on the NHS website here.

Dr Jagan John, Chair of NHS North East London Clinical Commissioning Group, said:
“Our teams have done an amazing job working quickly to get ready to meet the tough logistical challenges of delivering the vaccinations, and we are immensely grateful for the support we have received from our local partners in organising this event, including the management and staff at the London Stadium who are offering their time and facilities to help the NHS.
“The coronavirus vaccines are safe and effective, and getting vaccinated is the best form of protection against Covid-19 so we would encourage anyone eligible in north east London who has not yet had their first jab to come forward and book an appointment.
“When you get vaccinated, you are protecting yourself and helping to protect the whole community.”
The event forms part of the work being done by the NHS and its partners to encourage people to come forward for one of the safe, effective Covid-19 vaccines, increase vaccination uptake within all communities in north east London and ensure that no one is left behind. Vaccinations will be led by a clinical team from East London NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Paul Gilluley, Chief Medical Office for the East London NHS Foundation Trust, said: "With the rapid spread of the coronavirus variants, it is especially important as many people are vaccinated as soon as possible. I strongly encourage all our residents and service users across east London to book an appointment online for this Saturday's mass vaccination event."
Mayor of Newham, Rokhsana Fiaz OBE, said: “This vital mass-vaccination event in Newham will help us deliver more vaccinations to those who need them. It is vital that anyone eligible who has not had the vaccination make an appointment via the Eventbrite link.”
