London Stadium completes dramatic Major League ballpark transformation

London Stadium has undergone an incredible transformation for the MLB World Tour: London Series 2023, as the St. Louis Cardinals take on Chicago Cubs this weekend, June 24-25.

A stunning time-lapse video has been released showing how London’s ballpark has come together.

Across the 18-day build, 400 ground staff from across the world worked round the clock to alter stadium seating, construct new dugouts and lay over 144,000 square feet of artificial turf.

State of the art Clubhouses have been installed on top of the 100m warm up track in the west stand featuring 50 individual player lockers, managers offices, break out areas, TV screens, sofas and numerous drinks fridges.

The clubhouses will remain a permanent structure within the stadium and following the two-day series it is expected to take five days for London Stadium’s bowl to return to its familiar state.

Much of the materials used will be put into storage and recycled for the 2024 London series.

The Cardinals and Cubs have a historic rivalry stretching back 130 years. The latest chapter will be written at London Stadium on June 24-25. Final tickets are available now at ticketmaster.co.uk/mlb
