The FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX) today announced a return to the UK in 2025, with London Stadium confirmed as the host for the capital’s first-ever WSX event next year.
In the first wave of 2025 race destination announcements, WSX’s London debut highlights the championship’s vision to grow in the UK, following successful events at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium (2022) and Birmingham’s Villa Park (2023). Set to take place early in the season, the London event underscores WSX’s mission to expand its global footprint and bring the excitement of supercross to new audiences.
The event at London Stadium follows through on WSX’s commitment to bring world-class racing to major global cities and grow the sport internationally. As the only international motocross and supercross event to take place in the UK next year, it promises to be an unforgettable experience for two-wheel, dirt-loving fans.
The full 2025 calendar will be unveiled early next year, showcasing a dynamic roster of destinations designed to further expand WSX’s global presence and bring the action closer to motorsport communities across the world.
Tom Burwell, Chief Executive Officer at WSX, said: “Bringing WSX to London for the first time is a defining moment for the championship. London Stadium, with its world-class facilities and rich sporting legacy, is the perfect venue for our championship. This event not only celebrates the growth of supercross but also reinforces our commitment to delivering unforgettable experiences to fans around the globe. We’re excited to see the incredible energy of UK fans fill the stands and create a phenomenal atmosphere at the track.”
British rider Dean Wilson of Firepower Honda, added: “Seeing WSX come to London will be incredible. British fans are some of the most passionate in the world, and bringing this level of supercross competition to a renowned venue is a huge milestone for the championship.”
This announcement follows a thrilling 2024 WSX season, which included electrifying races in Vancouver and Perth, featuring supercross legends like Eli Tomac and Ken Roczen battling for supremacy. The action culminates this Wednesday, 4th December, at Etihad Arena, Abu Dhabi, where the 2024 World Supercross Champions will be crowned.
Graham Gilmore, CEO of London Stadium, said: “We are delighted to announce that the World Supercross Championship will be coming to London Stadium for the first time in October 2025. As one of the world’s leading multi-use venues, we take great pride in hosting an incredibly diverse range of events, from global sporting spectacles to unforgettable live entertainment.
