London Stadium has thrown its support behind this year’s Movember awareness campaign, with an aim of encouraging Londoners to get involved by signing up, fundraising and motivating men to talk more openly about their health.
Â
As well as being the face of the awareness campaign, by donning the charity’s six-metre moustache, London Stadium will be displaying digital Mo’s around the venue throughout November.
Â
“We’re immensely proud to be amplifying Movember’s awareness message to the hundreds of thousands of fans and visitors to the venue throughout November,†said Graham Gilmore, London Stadium’s Chief Executive Officer.
Â
“If we can help just a small proportion of men to be more comfortable talking about their health, it could make a huge difference to so many lives.â€
Â
Now in its 12th year in the UK, Movember encourages millions of men around the world to embrace the moustache in all its glorious forms. The itchy one, the patchy one or even the lopsided one - they all help fight prostate cancer, testicular cancer and male suicide.Â
Â
We are back for another year to encourage men to grow a Mo, sign up and donate as we prepare for Movember,†said Simon Traynor, Movember’s Interim Executive Director.
Â
“We are more determined than ever to keep raising awareness and get men to talk more openly about their health.
Â
“And that’s why we are taking over iconic sights in London to spread the message far and wide, and change the face of men’s health.â€
Â
Mo Bros who are planning to join in with Movember should sign up here and start with a cleanly shaven face on Friday 1st November.Â
Â
After that, it’s as simple as letting their moustache grow for the rest of the month. Those taking part can ask friends, family, or colleagues to back their Mo by donating.Â
Â
Funds will be invested in these key areas: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
